Screenwriter Meni Yitzhak Assif Blames Kaplan Protest for October 7th Massacre

Screenwriter Meni Yitzhak Assif published a scathing post on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, harshly criticizing the "Kaplan" protest movement and accusing its activists, former security officials, and other elements of threatening and causing the October 7th massacre.

Assif stated that the protest movement, which he referred to as a "terror organization," did not merely "warn" the government of a catastrophe but "threatened" it. He claimed that if the government did not yield to their demands, they would bring about a catastrophe, and asserted that they "brought it about. Maliciously. Knowingly. Intentionally. You threatened and you delivered, sick mobsters."

He further alleged that the protest movement was aided by "your cursed retired generals, with your infiltrators within the IDF and Shin Bet, with your criminal media, with the legal cover and backing you received to destroy and ruin, and through hundreds of millions of dollars that flowed to you from hate organizations in the US and Europe."

Assif concluded his post with a strong statement: "No timed and funded false campaign will hide this truth. There is no Kaplan, there is no massacre. You are all guilty of the massacre and you all must stand trial." His remarks reflect his personal stance and have joined the ongoing public discourse regarding responsibility for the October 7th events, eliciting reactions on social media.
