Israeli Strikes in Gaza Cause Casualties Amid Ceasefire Violations

Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, engaging in artillery shelling, gunfire, home demolitions, and targeting displaced civilians, resulting in fatalities and injuries. This occurred alongside intensive, low-altitude flights of drones and reconnaissance aircraft over the territory.

During the early morning hours, seven new violations of the truce were recorded, including attacks by drones, tanks, and gunboats, which injured several Palestinians. A drone targeted a group of displaced people near the White Mosque in the Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, causing injuries. Another drone strike near a police station in northern Gaza City injured several Palestinians, one critically, near a camp for displaced individuals.

Intermittent artillery shelling targeted eastern areas of Gaza City, while reconnaissance planes maintained a heavy presence in the skies. In southern Gaza, tanks positioned east of Khan Younis fired intensively towards areas within the city, accompanied by low-flying aircraft over the western part of the governorate. Gunboats also fired upon the coast of Khan Younis.

These events follow 20 reported Israeli violations in the preceding 24 hours, including shelling, gunfire, and targeting displaced persons in various northern and southern areas. These incidents reportedly resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to others.

The ongoing violations persist despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, and understandings related to the second phase of the truce. These developments contradict an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump on July 31, 2026, regarding a "new agreement" to commence the second phase of a "road map" for Gaza.
