Israeli Forces Conduct Raids Across West Bank; Settlers Attack Property

Israeli forces carried out widespread raids and arrests across the West Bank and Jerusalem early Sunday, detaining residents and subjecting some to field interrogations. Simultaneously, settlers attacked Palestinian property and agricultural lands in several areas.

In Jerusalem, forces arrested political writer and analyst Raseem Obaidat from his home in Jabal Mukaber. The Jenin governorate saw repeated incursions into the town of Qabatiya, where several young men were detained and mistreated, with one left blindfolded and handcuffed. Raids also occurred in the Jenin towns of Arraba, Kafr Thulth, Marka, Umm al-Tūt, Beit Qad, Raba, and Bir al-Basha, with numerous homes searched. In Arraba, settlers roamed near homes on the town's outskirts while a special forces unit surrounded a house in the Wadi al-Mardawi area.

In Nablus, forces entered the city from the Deir Sharaf checkpoint and raided a home on Keshika Street. They also stormed the town of Beit Furik, east of the city, where local sources reported the arrest of Mohammed Ubaid after raiding his home in the Old City's Qaisariya neighborhood. In the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, forces raided the village of Deir Amar, and confrontations erupted in al-Bireh with the intensive use of tear gas. A home in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, was raided and turned into a military outpost.

Further raids targeted the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya. In parallel, settlers attacked the village of Abu Falah, east of Ramallah, early Sunday, burning several Palestinian vehicles. Other attacks on agricultural lands and property continued across the West Bank.

In al-Mughayyir, settlers, protected by Israeli forces, attacked an ambulance at the village's western entrance, causing material damage, before raiding a sheep farm and stealing agricultural equipment. Forces also raided and searched a home in the village's western area, releasing tear gas and detaining Palestinians, including women and children, for hours at the village entrance.

For the second consecutive day, forces uprooted olive and forest trees in the town of Beit Ur al-Fauqa, northwest of Ramallah, after closing the town's entrance and bulldozing land. Olive trees were also uprooted in the village of Haddad, east of Jenin, amid ongoing land leveling and attacks on agricultural lands in various West Bank areas. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 628 attacks in August, resulting in one Palestinian killed and 164 injured, along with the uprooting of over 21,000 trees. The Palestine Information Center documented 4,357 settler attacks from the start of 2026 to the end of August, an increase from 3,818 in all of 2025, alongside ongoing raids, military measures, and movement restrictions on Palestinians.
