Settler Violence Escalates in West Bank, Targeting Vehicles and Farmland

Settlers attacked the village of Abu Falah, east of Ramallah, early Sunday, burning Palestinian vehicles and escalating attacks against farmers and their property across the occupied West Bank. Incidents included burning cars, raiding agricultural lands, uprooting trees, and destroying crops.

In the village of Al-Mughayir, northeast of Ramallah, settlers, reportedly under the protection of Israeli forces, damaged an ambulance at the village's western entrance. They then raided a sheep farm, stealing agricultural equipment. Simultaneously, Israeli forces searched a home in the western part of the village, causing damage and firing tear gas canisters. They also detained several Palestinians, including women and children, for hours at the village entrance before releasing them. Al-Mughayir has faced repeated settler incursions and attacks, coinciding with the expansion of settlement outposts nearby, particularly in agricultural areas close to the Jordan Valley and the Al-Baqia plain.

In Beit Ur al-Fauqa, northwest of Ramallah, Israeli forces continued for a second day to uproot olive and forest trees after blocking the town's entrance and bulldozing land. Similar actions occurred in the village of Haddad, east of Jenin, where olive trees were uprooted, as part of ongoing land confiscation and attacks on agricultural areas in the West Bank.

These attacks are occurring amid a rise in settler violence against Palestinians and their property, alongside continued Israeli military incursions and measures restricting Palestinian movement. According to data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 628 attacks in August across the West Bank and Jerusalem, resulting in one Palestinian death and 164 injuries, along with the uprooting of over 21,000 trees, including nearly 19,000 olive trees. The Palestinian Information Center "Mu'ata" documented 4,357 settler attacks from the beginning of 2026 through the end of August, an increase from 3,818 attacks throughout all of 2025.
