Actor and TV host Guy Zu-Aretz updated his hundreds of thousands of followers on Monday about a medical issue, saying he had to undergo surgery on his back. He shared the details on Instagram, describing a difficult treatment process and the anxiety he felt just before entering the operating room.
Zu-Aretz said he is now in the early stages of recovery at home and is being cared for by his wife, Yael Bar Zohar. “I’m okay, recovering, resting, working on myself to rest,” he wrote, adding that “the hardest mission I have ever had in my life is to rest.”
He said the procedure was especially stressful because it involved his back. “It’s very, very stressful,” he said, explaining that there is always fear “that something will go wrong.” He recalled the final moments before anesthesia, saying he was in intense prayer, thanking God and expressing gratitude for his family, “for Yaeli, for the children,” while asking that everything go well.
Zu-Aretz also said he was holding on to a verse from Psalms, “I have set the Lord always before me.”
