Israeli boxer Ahava Hashem Gordon, 20, underwent a medical procedure on Tuesday that he had postponed for an extended period. Hours after the surgery, his wife, Oren Levy, 20, shared an update from the recovery room, reassuring followers about his condition.
In a social media story featuring a photo of Gordon in his hospital bed, Levy wrote, "Thank you all for the prayers and concern, he is doing very well, recovering slowly. He will come out of this very strong, thank God. Continue to pray for his complete recovery. Ahava Hashem ben Azriel."
The hospitalization comes after a demanding year for the young fighter. Gordon had recently announced he needed to pause his busy schedule to address the medical issue he had repeatedly deferred. In a video posted before his admission, he acknowledged that the recovery would not be short but promised to document the process in weekly online updates.
Gordon and Levy were married just over a month prior in a ceremony attended by 1,000 guests in Hadera, followed by a 12-day honeymoon in Zanzibar.
