Meteorological Service Warns of Significant Rain on Simchat Torah

Israel's Meteorological Service has issued a forecast for the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday, warning of significant rainfall expected on Simchat Torah, the second day of the festival.

According to the service's updated models, rain is predicted to return starting Monday evening. On Tuesday and Wednesday, localized showers are expected in the north and, potentially, in central Israel. The rainfall may be locally heavy for short periods on Wednesday.

A noticeable drop in temperatures is also anticipated starting Wednesday, continuing into the second day of the holiday. Temperatures in mountainous areas, including Jerusalem, are expected to reach only 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 degrees Fahrenheit), the lowest since the spring.
