Gadi Eisenkot Accuses Netanyahu of Lying, Betraying Public Trust

Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of "pathological lying" in both Hebrew and English and of betraying public trust. The criticism comes just a month before Israeli elections and amid ongoing revelations about intelligence warnings preceding the Hamas attack.

In a sharp post on X, Eisenkot stated that the facts revealed recently leave "no room for doubt" that Netanyahu "blindly, arrogantly, and irresponsibly led the State of Israel to the greatest disaster in its history." He further accused Netanyahu's circle of attempting to "engineer consciousness" and escape responsibility by spreading "betrayal theories."

Eisenkot asserted that Netanyahu and his cabinet ministers, who have not taken responsibility, "lack the competence to lead the rehabilitation and repair that the nation of Israel needs." He also expressed confidence that former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett would recommend him to the President for the premiership, aiming for a bloc of 65 Knesset seats.

Eisenkot drew red lines regarding potential coalition partners, stating that Mansour Abbas would not be part of his government, as "they do not accept my rules, which include recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization."

The exchange follows a recent interview where Netanyahu criticized Eisenkot's English language skills and perceived inability to express ideas, calling him someone who "always found a way to escape big decisions." Eisenkot responded by calling Netanyahu "out of touch" and a "pathological liar," stating that his meetings with senior Americans were conducted excellently in English.
