Netanyahu Envoy Met Qatar Representative Day Before UN Speech

Michael Eisenberg, a personal envoy for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning Gaza, met with Qatar's Amir's envoy, Minister Ali Al-Thawadi, in New York. The meeting occurred on Wednesday, one day before Netanyahu's address at the UN General Assembly. The two officials discussed the implementation of the Trump plan for Gaza and humanitarian steps Israel committed to undertake.

Eisenberg and Al-Thawadi spoke privately for approximately 30 minutes about the situation in the Gaza Strip. This meeting followed a session of the Peace Council focused on an initial rehabilitation plan for Gaza, previously revealed by N12.

Al-Thawadi, representing the Amir of Qatar, had previously participated in a call between Netanyahu and the Qatari Prime Minister at the White House a year prior. During his UN address on Thursday, Netanyahu sharply criticized Qatar, accusing it of funding a "lying industry" against Israel with billions of dollars and of hosting Hamas terrorists involved in the October 7th massacre.

Netanyahu stated in his speech, "There is an eighth front in this war. This is the war over truth. The war is being waged in global media and especially on social networks. Several foreign countries have invested huge sums to spread lies." He specifically targeted Qatar, claiming they began decades ago by funding American universities and "toxic media channels like Al Jazeera," aiming to indoctrinate youth to hate Israel, America, and the West.

The Prime Minister's office did not provide a response regarding the details of the New York meeting.
