Netanyahu Envoy Met Qatar Representative Before UN Speech

Michael Eisenberg, a personal envoy for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning Gaza, met with Qatar's Amir's envoy, Minister Ali Al-Thawadi, in New York. The meeting occurred on Wednesday, one day before Netanyahu's address at the United Nations General Assembly. The two officials discussed the implementation of the Trump plan for Gaza and humanitarian steps Israel committed to undertake.

Eisenberg and Al-Thawadi held a private conversation for approximately 30 minutes, focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip. This meeting followed a session of the Peace Council that addressed an initial rehabilitation plan for Gaza, previously revealed by N12. Al-Thawadi has previously participated in discussions involving Netanyahu, including an apology call with the Qatari Prime Minister at the White House a year prior.

During his UN speech on Thursday, Netanyahu sharply criticized Qatar, accusing it of funding a "multi-billion dollar industry of lies" against Israel. He specifically mentioned Qatar hosting Hamas terrorists involved in the October 7th attacks. Netanyahu stated, "There is an eighth front in this war. This is the war for truth. The war is being waged in global media and especially on social networks. Several foreign countries have invested huge sums to spread lies."

He elaborated on Qatar's alleged actions, saying, "They were the first to do this. Decades ago, they began funding American universities and toxic media channels like Al Jazeera. They did the same in Europe, by the way, and their goal was clear, to brainwash young people to hate Israel, to hate America, to hate the West." The Prime Minister's office did not provide a comment regarding the details of the New York meeting.
