Israel Strikes Southern Lebanon with Airstrikes and Artillery

Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Saturday morning, accompanied by artillery shelling and explosions carried out by Israeli forces since the previous night. The airstrikes targeted areas including Jabal al-Rafi and Al-Rihan, situated between the Iqlim al-Tuffah and Jezzine districts. The sounds of explosions were reportedly heard in the city of Sidon and its surroundings. Three airstrikes also hit the outskirts of the town of Sgud, with Lebanese reports indicating that the strikes extended to the town's highlands in the Jezzine district.

Earlier, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli forces shelled the areas of Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and Wadi Hassan in the early morning hours of Saturday. The town of Doueir Kfarman also experienced repeated Israeli artillery shelling. Additionally, Israeli forces reportedly carried out violent explosions in the towns of Barchit and Hada after midnight.

Conflicting reports emerged regarding the locations of the explosions, with the Lebanese website Al-Neshra stating that the Israeli military conducted an explosion between the towns of Barchit and Quneitra in the Bint Jbeil district, and another near the town of Beit Yahoun. The latter explosion's echoes were reportedly heard across various parts of southern Lebanon.

Lebanese reports also mentioned Israeli forces conducting a sweep operation from Beit Yahoun towards homes in Aita al-Shaab, coinciding with low-flying Israeli drones over villages in Nabatieh and Iqlim al-Tuffah. This escalation on Saturday morning follows a day of similar Israeli actions, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, and explosions in various southern Lebanese areas on Friday, affecting towns and regions such as Kfar Tibnit, Quneitra, Hada, Wadi Zibqin, and M'aifouq, and Zoutar al-Sharqiyeh.
