Yemen's Houthis Aim to Acquire Advanced Weapons to Counter Israel, Says Ex-Speaker

In an interview with N12/Makko, al-Bukhaiti stated that the Houthis intend to develop chemical or biological weapons as a deterrent.
Al-Bukhaiti emphasized that the Houthi leadership fears a large-scale military operation from Israel, similar to actions taken against Hezbollah, and specifically targeting Ansar Allah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. The report notes that the Houthi seizure of the strategic Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is part of an "Axis of Iran" operation, not a local Yemeni initiative, aimed at pressuring the United States, Europe, and Saudi Arabia.
