Yemen's Houthis Accuse Saudi Arabia of Aiding Israel, Threaten Jewish State

The leader of Yemen's Houthi movement, Abdel Malik al-Houthi, has accused Saudi Arabia of collaborating with Israel, questioning the kingdom's commitment to the Palestinian cause. Al-Houthi claimed that Saudi Arabia provided significant funding and fuel that ultimately aided Israel's military operations against Palestinians. He asserted that the "real threat to holy sites comes from the Jewish Zionist enemy, who openly declares its plans." Al-Houthi suggested that Saudi Arabia is attempting to divert attention from the Houthis, whom he described as more dedicated defenders of Palestinians and their holy sites.

Meanwhile, Israeli defense officials are reportedly not currently considering a preemptive strike against the Houthis, despite their advances in Yemen and strengthening presence near the strategic Bab el-Mandeb strait. Instead, Israel's defense establishment favors forming a regional coalition to counter the Houthi threat. This stance could change if Israel faces direct danger.

Recent satellite imagery from September 8-16 indicates that the Houthis have constructed approximately 20 kilometers of new trenches in mountainous areas surrounding the Bab el-Mandeb strait. The balance of power in the region has reportedly shifted significantly since July.
