Israel Strikes Hamas Financial Network, Kills 16 Key Operatives
The Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency announced Friday the elimination of 16 prominent figures within Hamas's financial apparatus during the ongoing conflict. These individuals were allegedly involved in a money transfer network operating between Turkey and the Gaza Strip, facilitating the movement of funds exceeding one billion dollars to finance Hamas activities.
According to the Israeli military, the targeted operatives were responsible for receiving funds for Hamas, with the money used to bolster the organization's military capabilities, rebuild infrastructure, and support hostile operations against Israeli forces and civilians. The military identified several key figures killed, including Ibrahim Abu Shamala, the financial manager of Hamas's military wing, and Mohammed Abu Alwan, responsible for financing the political wing. Other senior members of the money transfer network, such as Khader Al-Jamasi, Ihab Khreizem, and Hussein Qadra, were also reportedly killed.
The Israeli military issued a warning to all individuals continuing to engage in Hamas's financial activities, stating that those who finance or facilitate "terrorism" are legitimate targets for Israeli strikes aimed at dismantling the organization. Additionally, the military cautioned civilians in Gaza that their lives are endangered by Hamas operatives who continue to pursue financial efforts to strengthen and rebuild the movement throughout the Strip.
