One Dead, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Route 90

A man in his 60s was killed and four others were injured, two critically, in a fatal multi-vehicle accident on Route 90 on Friday evening. The critically injured were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Police closed the road in both directions, though it was later reopened. Responders described severe damage to all vehicles involved, with one car in a ditch containing the deceased man, who showed no signs of life. Another vehicle was overturned, with one of the seriously injured found unconscious inside.

This incident follows a deadly Thursday across Israel, where five people died in four separate road accidents. A motorcyclist in his 30s was killed near Kiryat Ata after being hit by a car. Earlier, a collision between a bus and a taxi on the Ayalon Highway near the KK"L interchange resulted in one fatality and five injuries. In the Negev, near Giv'ot Bar, two men in their 30s died when two vehicles collided. In northern Tel Aviv, a cyclist in his 50s, initially in critical condition after being struck by a car, died after resuscitation efforts failed. The driver, a Palestinian illegally present in Israel, was arrested on suspicion of causing the death and of stealing the vehicle used in the incident. A bag containing car theft tools was found in the car.
