One Dead, Five Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Route 90
A man in his 60s was killed and five others were injured, two critically, in a multi-vehicle accident on Route 90 near the settlement of Mechola on Friday evening. Emergency services responded to the scene, where firefighters extricated the deceased from a vehicle. The crash involved four cars, with responders describing a complex and severe scene.
Two of the injured, men in their 40s and 60s, were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in serious condition with head and abdominal injuries. A man in his 30s was airlifted by an IDF helicopter with moderate abdominal injuries. Two additional individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported by MDA ambulances.
Paramedics described the scene as a very serious accident with significant vehicle damage. One car was in a ditch, and another was overturned. Medical teams, including IDF medical personnel, provided initial treatment before transporting the injured to hospitals.
Police accident investigators are en route to the scene to determine the cause of the crash. Route 90 was closed in both directions following the incident.
