Jerusalem Charity Distributes Gifts to Sick Children

The Beit Mal Al-Quds Agency, affiliated with the Jerusalem Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, distributed gifts, school bags, and stationery to children suffering from cancer and kidney diseases at Al-Mutlaa Hospital's "School of Determination" in Jerusalem. The agency's acting director, Mohammed Salem Al-Sharqawi, participated with the children and their teachers in opening the academic year, visiting the pediatric cancer ward, and distributing gifts. He also visited the pediatric dialysis unit and met with the school's staff.

Al-Sharqawi stated that this annual initiative is part of the agency's ongoing relationship with Al-Mutlaa Hospital and aims to support a vulnerable social group. He praised the medical and administrative staff's professionalism and commitment, reaffirming the agency's dedication to providing all necessary support for the children's treatment journey.

The "School of Determination," established in September 2016 at Al-Mutlaa Hospital, is a government school for students absent due to illness, particularly those with cancer and kidney failure requiring hospitalization. Ibrahim Al-Khatib, director of community business and public relations at Al-Mutlaa Hospital, thanked the agency for the second consecutive year, highlighting the initiative's positive psychological and morale-boosting impact on the children and its role in continuing their education alongside treatment.

Hiam Sandoqa, director of the "School of Determination," noted that the agency's support encourages students to continue studying and stay connected with their original schools. She emphasized the need for such initiatives for Jerusalem schools and institutions to continue their educational mission, thanking the agency, Morocco, and the hospital administration.

Mohammed Qabaja, head of the specialized pediatric department at Al-Mutlaa Hospital, described the initiative as a vital complement to treatment protocols, significantly boosting the children's morale and providing psychological support. He added that the gifts make the children feel less alone during their treatment.

One of the children, Diala Darawi, expressed her happiness with the visit and the gifts, thanking the agency for their generosity.
