Tens of Thousands Pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque Amid Tight Israeli Security

Tens of thousands of worshippers performed Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, according to Palestinian sources. The Islamic Waqf department in Jerusalem confirmed the large turnout.

Israeli forces imposed strict military measures around occupied Jerusalem and at the entrances and gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City. Palestinian sources reported that these measures, which began early Friday, included restrictions on worshippers entering the mosque and the detention and searching of several young men who were prevented from reaching the site to pray.
