Family Launches Initiative to Memorialize Slain Man by Visiting Springs

Following the murder of Natanel (Nati) Sharoni in a terror attack as he went to immerse himself in a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf, his nephews have initiated a project to transform their grief into a living memorial. They are calling on the public to visit springs across Israel and immerse themselves in remembrance of Sharoni.

Sharoni was killed in a terror attack on the eve of Yom Kippur while visiting a spring near Neve Tzuf. His family seeks to honor his memory by turning the place and moment of his death into a source of life and connection to the land. The initiative, "Immersing in Memory of Nati," encourages people to visit springs on Friday, immerse themselves, and dedicate the moment to his memory.

"Out of great pain, we decided we wanted to do something that would perpetuate Nati in a way connected to life and the land," his nephews stated. "Nati went to immerse himself in a spring on the eve of Yom Kippur and did not return. We want people on Friday to go to the springs, immerse themselves in his memory, and show that life and our connection to the land continue."

The initiative aims to create a wave of immersions in various springs across the country on a single day, transforming the family's private grief into a shared public memory. The family finds particular significance in commemorating Sharoni through a return to the springs, seeking to fill them with life rather than allowing the attack to make them symbols of fear and pain.

"We invite the people of Israel to be with us," the nephews said. "Go to a spring you love. Immerse yourself in memory of Nati, take photos, share, and invite others to join. We want to see the springs filled with life."
