Prominent Kabbalist Rabbi David Batsri Collapses, Hospitalized in Critical Condition
Rabbi David Batsri, a revered Kabbalist and head of the 'HaShalom' yeshiva in Jerusalem, was hospitalized in critical condition at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer on Friday morning, ahead of the Sukkot holiday. The 85-year-old rabbi collapsed at his home in Bnei Brak and was evacuated by paramedics after receiving advanced resuscitation efforts. Emergency responders from Hatzalah and MDA paramedics arrived at the scene and performed CPR, successfully reviving his pulse before transporting him to the hospital's trauma unit.
According to Hatzalah medics Dudi Goldberg and Zvi Lustig, they found Rabbi Batsri unconscious and without a pulse upon arrival. They administered CPR, medication, and respiratory support, after which his pulse returned. He was then taken to Sheba Medical Center for further treatment.
Rabbi Batsri is known as one of the leading and most senior Kabbalists in Israel. The public has been called upon to pray for his complete recovery, under the Hebrew name David Shalom Batsri ben Victoria, among all the sick of Israel.
