Israeli National Team Center Idan Zalmanson Returns to Maccabi Rishon LeZion
Idan Zalmanson, the 31-year-old center for the Israeli national basketball team, has officially signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion. Zalmanson spent the last two seasons with Hapoel Holon, where he averaged 8.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 18.3 minutes during the most recent season. Rishon LeZion will cover Zalmanson's full salary as part of the transfer agreement.
Zalmanson, who stands at 2.06 meters tall, began his career in Rishon LeZion's youth system and was part of the team that won the Israeli championship in the 2015/16 season. He has since played for several other top Israeli league teams, including Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Hapoel Holon.
This signing marks Rishon LeZion's fourth Israeli acquisition of the summer. The team has already added Ron Tzifer, Or Cornelius, and Michael Brisker. Zalmanson is expected to join his new teammates once the transfer is finalized.
Hapoel Holon released a statement thanking Zalmanson for his contributions over the past two challenging seasons and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
