Netanyahu and Milei Exchange Lavish Praise in New York Meeting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Argentinian President Javier Milei in New York on Thursday, following Netanyahu's address at the UN General Assembly. Both leaders engaged in a warm exchange of compliments, with Netanyahu hailing Milei's economic reforms in Argentina and his strong support for Israel. Milei, in turn, described Netanyahu as one of the greatest leaders in world history.

The two leaders discussed expanding the Abraham Accords and deepening bilateral ties. Netanyahu specifically thanked Milei for his "unwavering and unconditional" support for Israel and congratulated him on receiving the "Lover of Israel" award from a New York yeshiva. They also explored enhancing strategic cooperation in Latin America, which Netanyahu noted could facilitate the expansion of the Abraham Accords under Milei's leadership, aiming to strengthen security and economic partnerships between Israel and Latin American nations.

Netanyahu lauded Milei's economic revolution, stating, "What you have done for the economy of Argentina is exceptional. It is very difficult to do this, there is a lot of political opposition, but you have broken the cage and you are giving freedom to the people." He added, "You stand for the truth. You don't care, you just speak for the truth. That is why you support Israel because we share this common heritage of justice and speaking for the truth, and there is no one who does it better than you."

Milei expressed his honor at receiving such praise from Netanyahu, whom he considers "one of the greatest leaders in world history." Following this meeting, Netanyahu also met with the presidents of Panama, Paraguay, and Bolivia. He commended the strong relations between Israel and Latin American countries, thanked them for their support on security matters and on the international stage, and encouraged them to join the Abraham Accords initiative and the US-led initiative to withdraw from the International Criminal Court. Netanyahu highlighted these nations as key partners in combating Iran-backed terrorism, which he stated poses a threat to the entire continent.
