Knesset Member Uri Maklev Mourns Death of Daughter-in-Law, Ruhama Chaya Maklev

Ruhama Chaya Maklev, the 39-year-old daughter-in-law of Knesset Member Uri Maklev, passed away on Friday morning, the eve of the Sukkot holiday, in Jerusalem. She died after a year-long battle with a serious illness, which she faced with faith and quiet acceptance. Her condition deteriorated in the last 24 hours, leading to her death.

Maklev was described as a woman of noble character, devoted to her faith and her husband, Rabbi Yochanan Maklev, an important Torah scholar. She was the pillar of her home, known for her modesty and grace. She leaves behind her husband, parents, siblings, and three young orphaned children.

The funeral procession was scheduled to depart at 10:45 AM on Friday from the Tze'ei Synagogue in the Ramot Polin neighborhood of Jerusalem, proceeding to Har HaMenuchot for burial. The mourning family will sit Shiva until the start of the holiday at the deceased's home in Ramot, Jerusalem.
