Supercomputer Predicts Israel's Low Odds in Nations League

A supercomputer analysis by FMData forecasts a challenging UEFA Nations League campaign for the Israeli national football team, predicting they will finish last in their group. Austria is favored to win the group with a 48.3% chance, followed by Kosovo (27.6%) and Ireland (28.1%). Israel is projected to finish fourth with a 40.2% probability.

Despite the prediction of a last-place finish, the supercomputer suggests Israel has a 60.1% chance of winning a potential playoff match against a second-place team from League C. The winner of this playoff would secure a spot in League B of the competition. The analysis also assigns Israel a 27.9% chance of finishing third in the group, 19.9% for second, and a slim 11.9% for first place.

For their opening match against Austria on Thursday, Israel is given only a 19% chance of victory. Historically, Israel's record against Austria includes six losses, four draws, and three wins. The team's qualification for the Euro playoffs via the Nations League depends on finishing first in their group, or potentially second depending on other European Championship qualifying results.
