Supercomputer Predicts Israel's Low Finish in Nations League

A supercomputer analysis by FMData predicts that the Israeli national football team will finish last in its UEFA Nations League group. The simulation gives Austria a 48.3% chance of finishing first, Kosovo 27.6% for second, and Ireland 28.1% for third. Israel is projected to finish fourth with a 40.2% probability.

Despite the prediction of a last-place finish, the supercomputer forecasts that Israel has a 60.1% chance of winning a potential playoff match against a second-place team from League C. The winner of this playoff would secure a spot in League B of the competition. The analysis also assigns Israel a 27.9% chance of finishing third in the group, 19.9% for second, and a slim 11.9% chance of winning the group.

For the opening match against Austria on Thursday, the supercomputer gives Israel only a 19% chance of victory. Israel's historical record against Austria includes six losses, four draws, and three wins.

Qualification for the Euro playoffs via the Nations League is still possible for Israel, contingent on finishing first in their group, or potentially second depending on other Euro qualifying results. The team is currently managed by Ben Shimon.
