Esther Fischer Steps Down as Head of Ein HaNatziv Seminary After Decade

Rabbi Esther Fischer announced she will conclude her ten-year tenure as the head of the Ein HaNatziv Seminary within the coming year. Fischer, who has also taught at the institution for over three decades, described the decision as a significant personal change, marking the end of a long and meaningful chapter in her life. She noted her deep connection to the seminary, having been a graduate of its very first class, making the institution more than just a workplace but a part of her identity.

Fischer expressed gratitude to the seminary, the Kibbutz Dati movement that founded it, and her colleagues. While her future plans are still being formulated, she stated that she will carry the teachings of Ein HaNatziv with her. She drew a parallel to the blooming cyclamen and ripening dates around the seminary, symbolizing the young women filled with knowledge and spirit who have been a source of joy and hope for her over the years.

Alongside Fischer's departure, a new leadership structure was revealed. Rabbi Yaara Widman Samuel will assume the role of Torah and educational leadership for the main seminary. Rabbi Atirat Granovitch will continue to lead the seminary's branch in Kiryat Shmona. Fischer expressed confidence in their abilities, stating she is at peace knowing the seminary is in excellent hands.

Fischer emphasized that the formal farewells and summations will occur later in the year, but she wanted to share the upcoming changes with the seminary's partners. She concluded her announcement with a quote from Yehuda Amichai, reflecting on the enduring connection between a person and their home, even after leaving it.
