Israel Offers Abundant Free Sukkot Activities for Families Nationwide

Israel is set to host a wide array of free and low-cost activities across the country for families during the intermediate days of Sukkot in 2026. The Ministry of Heritage, in collaboration with the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites, is organizing events at dozens of heritage sites. These include guided tours, escape games, olive harvests, and art activities, with some tours priced at just 10 NIS per person.

KKL-JNF (Jewish National Fund) will present "Sukkot of Dreams" in Ben Shemen Forest, alongside other family-friendly events nationwide such as olive harvests, nature workshops, and children's shows. Shopping malls operated by Ofer and BIG will also offer free activities, including craft workshops, play areas, inflatable attractions, and circus performances.

The "Breathing Culture" initiative, a joint project by Mifal HaPayis and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, returns for its 13th year, featuring cultural and artistic performances in national parks. The Jeremy's Circle Association, supporting children affected by cancer, is providing free family events at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo and the Balagan amusement park in Kibbutz Yagur, as well as activities in Tel Aviv.

Further attractions include Sukkot celebrations on the Sea of Galilee with boat tours and guided nature walks, the Acre International Festival of Other Theatre offering free street performances, and a game fair at Ofer Grand Canyon Haifa. In the north, the "Chocolat Festival" in Nof HaGalil will feature performances and chocolate-themed activities, while Zichron Yaakov opens its doors for an "Artistic Homes" event with local artists and workshops.

Other notable events include a heritage center in the Golan Heights, nature activities at Ramat Hanadiv, a "Candy Land" festival in Kiryat Ata, and a "Legends of Sukkot" festival in Ma'alot Tarshiha featuring prominent Israeli artists. In the south, Eilat will host a street theatre festival and free concerts, while Beer Sheva offers a "Nights of Sukkot in the Old City" event with dancing and a food festival. Jerusalem will host a "Green Festival" with nature tours and sustainability workshops, and the Israel Museum will offer free admission for children during the holiday with various family activities.
