Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said after talks with the United States in Switzerland that the first real test would be the establishment of a friction-prevention cell in Lebanon, which was announced by the mediators, Pakistan and Qatar.
Araghchi said the Pakistani and Qatari mediation was "relentless" and had produced significant progress toward ending the war in Lebanon. He presented the mechanism in Lebanon as the key next step after the diplomatic discussions.
He also said the understandings reached included an exemption for Iran's oil and petrochemical exports, the lifting of the blockade, the release of some frozen assets, and the launch of a major development plan for rebuilding Iran.
