Javier Bardem Backs Campaign to Oust Pink as UNICEF Ambassador Over Gaza Stance

Spanish actor Javier Bardem has joined a campaign seeking to remove American singer Pink (P!nk) from her role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. On Monday, September 21, the Oscar winner shared posts on Instagram urging followers to sign a petition on Change.org, accompanying a repost with the simple caption "Out!". The petition had surpassed 170,000 signatures by the time of the report, following earlier reports of over 150,000 participants, according to NME.

The controversy stems from Pink's reaction to a pro-Palestinian speech and slogans delivered by rapper Macklemore during a concert on Ed Sheeran's tour. Pink sharply criticized Macklemore's stance, which prompted a group of activists to launch the petition demanding her removal. Pink has held the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador position since 2015.

Campaign organizers argue that Pink's comments exhibit "hatred and division" and contravene the humanitarian mission and the principle of neutrality expected of a goodwill ambassador. Bardem's public endorsement has amplified the campaign's visibility.
