Israel Warns Iran: Nuclear Attack Possible Without US Backing

An Israeli official has issued a stark public warning to Iran, stating that Israel will not hesitate to take military action to halt Tehran's nuclear program. Speaking to Saudi television network Al-Hadath on Thursday, the official emphasized that Israel would strike Iranian nuclear facilities again if Tehran crosses established red lines. The official clarified that such an operation would be conducted entirely independently, "with or without the involvement of the United States."

Israel perceives Iran as attempting to preemptively fortify its nuclear project. According to the official, Israeli intelligence is closely monitoring Tehran's efforts to leverage its nuclear program as a deterrent against potential attacks. A key focus of this surveillance is the accelerated movement and transfer of nuclear project components in the Jabal al-Fas region, near the central enrichment facility at Natanz.

Beyond the nuclear threat, Israel's security establishment is also drawing clear boundaries concerning Iran's ballistic missile program and its extensive missile stockpiles, which are considered a red line in themselves. The official indicated that further Israeli strikes against Iran are currently seen as "a matter of time."

In addition to signaling a potential independent military threat, Israel is expressing profound skepticism regarding the diplomatic channel pursued by the U.S. administration with Iran. The Israeli official stated that Jerusalem "sees no real chance of reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran."
