Israel Warns of Strikes on Iranian National and Energy Infrastructure

An Israeli official stated that if required to act alongside the United States, Israel would target Iran's national and energy infrastructure. This warning comes amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf following recent exchanges between the U.S. and Iran, and concerns that increased pressure on Tehran could lead to actions against Israel.

The U.S. has recently intensified its military and economic pressure on Iran, including strikes against Iranian oil tankers and Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in the Strait of Hormuz. These actions are part of a new "tanker for tanker" policy aimed at curbing Iran's ability to attack shipping and U.S. forces. President Trump has warned of broader U.S. retaliation for any further Iranian aggression.

In response to the heightened tensions, both the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the U.S. military are holding daily situation assessments and updating operational plans. Israel is closely monitoring Iranian activities in the region and maintaining tight coordination with the U.S.

While Iran has so far avoided direct attacks on Israel, it has recently fired missiles towards Jordan, which were reportedly heard in Israel's Eilat region. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and other embassies in the region have issued alerts to American citizens regarding potential unpredictable escalation, including possible airspace closures and travel disruptions.
