Israel Threatens Iranian National and Energy Infrastructure if Attacked

An Israeli official stated that if the country is compelled to act, it will target Iran's national and energy infrastructure. This warning comes amid escalating tensions in the region, following recent exchanges between the U.S. and Iran, and Iranian actions towards Jordan. Israel is preparing for the possibility that the conflict could expand, maintaining close coordination with the United States.

The Israeli security establishment is concerned that increased pressure on Tehran, both military and economic, could push the regime to take unprecedented actions, potentially including attacks against Israel. This concern is heightened by recent U.S. actions, such as striking two Iranian oil tankers as part of a "tanker for tanker" policy, and broader strikes against approximately 100 Iranian targets, including air defense systems and missile launch sites. These U.S. operations aim to curb Iran's ability to threaten shipping and American forces in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump has warned of a more extensive U.S. response to any further Iranian aggression. In response to the heightened tensions, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the U.S. military are conducting daily situation assessments and updating operational plans based on evolving intelligence.
