Massive Arms Cache Seized in Southern Israel, Seven Arrested

Israeli security forces conducted targeted operations in the Negev region, resulting in the seizure of a significant cache of illegal weapons and the arrest of seven suspects. The operations, aimed at combating illegal arms and strengthening governance in the south, were carried out by detectives from the Southern District's Central Unit and the Southern National Guard Border Police (Magav) forces.

During a search of a home in the Segev Shalom locality, a police dog discovered an M-16 rifle and dozens of bullets hidden in the kitchen. A father and son were arrested at the scene. In a separate operation in an open area near Bir Hadaj, a bag containing a Glock pistol, a magazine, and a fragmentation grenade was found.

Further action in the town of Hura led to the identification of a suspect via drone, who was observed discarding a bag. Officers raided the location and seized a Glock pistol, magazines, and a large quantity of M-16 ammunition. Five suspects were apprehended in this compound and taken for questioning at the Eilot police station.
