Israel Defender Idan Nachmias Eyes Euro Qualification in Nations League

Israeli national team defender Idan Nachmias expressed confidence ahead of the 2027 Nations League opener against Austria on Thursday, stating that qualifying for the Euros is the clear objective for the team. Nachmias, who recently signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva, discussed his return to Israel and his new club.

"Life is very fluid as a footballer, you always have to be ready to take the opportunity when you get it," Nachmias said in an exclusive interview. He explained that there were various reasons for his return to Israel and that he is happy to have joined Hapoel Be'er Sheva, emphasizing that he had to find a new place after his previous situation left him with no other choice.

Reflecting on the national team's aspirations, Nachmias stated, "We all understand that the goal is to qualify for the Euros. We have gone through a long process and we all know what the goal is." He praised the team's atmosphere, calling it a "great group of leaders" and the "most fun place to be." He believes the team is capable of achieving their goal, saying, "We can do it big, we need to let the results speak in the end. We will give everything, that's for sure."

Nachmias also commented on his anticipated partnership with fellow defender Nikita Stoyanov, whom he described as "an amazing guy" and expressed eagerness to play alongside him.
