Idan Nahmias: Euro Qualification is Clear Goal for Israel National Team

Israeli national team defender Idan Nahmias expressed confidence and optimism regarding the team's upcoming campaign in the 2027 Nations League, which begins Thursday against Austria. Nahmias, who recently returned to Israel and signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva, discussed his career moves and the team's aspirations in an exclusive interview.

"Life is very fluid as a footballer; you always have to be ready to take the opportunity when you get it," Nahmias stated, explaining his decision to return to Israel and join Hapoel Be'er Sheva. He added that he was happy with the move, which came after he found himself needing to seek a new club.

Focusing on the national team, Nahmias emphasized that qualifying for the Euros is the clear objective for the current squad. "We all understand that the goal is to qualify for the Euros. We have gone through a long process, and we all know what the goal is," he said. He praised the team's atmosphere, describing the players as a "great group of leaders" and the national team as a "fun place to be."

Nahmias is hopeful about the team's potential, stating, "We can do great things. We need to let the results speak in the end. We will give everything, that's for sure." He also looked forward to playing alongside fellow defender Nikita Stoyanov, calling him "an amazing guy."
