Ambassador Yechiel Leiter's Son Critically Injured in West Bank Car-Ramming Attack

Yechiel Leiter, Israel's Ambassador to the United States, provided an update on his son Neria's condition on Thursday outside Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. Neria was critically injured the previous day in a car-ramming attack at the Maccabim junction on Route 443. "We understood during the night that the situation was extremely critical. Thank God, the doctors managed to stabilize his condition, but his life is still in danger," Ambassador Leiter stated. The hospital confirmed that Neria Leiter's condition had stabilized following several examinations and surgical procedures, though he remains in serious condition with his life still at risk.

Ambassador Leiter also spoke about the death of his elder son, reserve Major Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who fell in combat in the northern Gaza Strip. "This ordeal is different from the night we were told our elder son had fallen in combat," he shared, emphasizing that this time his family could gather at Neria's bedside, recite psalms, and call on the people of Israel to pray for his recovery.

Leiter mentioned he learned of the attack in New York immediately after an interview about violence in Judea and Samaria, prompting his swift return to Israel to be with his family. The family has requested the public to continue praying for Neria Dov ben Chana's healing.
