Rod Stewart's Wife Reveals Secret Heart Condition Requiring Stent
Penny Lancaster, wife of legendary British singer Rod Stewart, has revealed that the 81-year-old musician was diagnosed with a "silent heart condition" that required urgent medical intervention. Lancaster shared in a YouTube interview that Stewart experienced several health issues over the summer, including a respiratory infection and breathing difficulties during a performance at high altitude.
She explained that while they initially attributed his struggles to these factors, they later discovered the underlying heart problem. A particularly concerning incident occurred in June when Stewart was seen using an oxygen tank backstage during a U.S. concert. This led to the cancellation of subsequent tour dates as he underwent a medical procedure to have a stent inserted into an artery.
Lancaster expressed relief that the condition was detected in time, noting that doctors found a minor blockage that necessitated the stent. She mentioned that such procedures are common for individuals over 65, based on her reading. Stewart, who has performed in Israel three times, has recently been critical of Israel's policies in Gaza and previously distanced himself from former U.S. President Donald Trump due to his support for Israel.
