Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa addressed the situation in Lebanon and said Syria has "a deep problem with Hezbollah," but does not want "all of Lebanon to die." He argued that Lebanon cannot remain trapped between the choice of civil war and war with Israel.
Al-Sharaa said Lebanon’s Shiite community needs calm, not more fear and confrontation. His remarks framed Hezbollah as a serious obstacle, while stressing that the wider country should not pay the price of further escalation.
