Israeli Beaches Offer Clear Waters and Warm Temperatures This Weekend

Israeli beaches are expected to have clear waters and pleasant temperatures over the weekend of September 24-26. After an unusual period of phytoplankton bloom, the Mediterranean coast is now mostly transparent, though some areas retain a greenish-yellow hue. Jellyfish are reported to be scarce.

Temperatures along the Mediterranean coast will range from 29-30 degrees Celsius during the day, with water temperatures at a warm 29 degrees Celsius. Wave heights are expected to be up to 1 meter or more.

In Eilat, daytime temperatures will reach 34-35 degrees Celsius, with water temperatures at 27 degrees Celsius. Waves in the Gulf of Eilat will be up to 0.5 meters, with occasional choppier conditions possible.

On the shores of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret), daytime temperatures will be between 32-34 degrees Celsius, with water at 30 degrees Celsius and waves up to 0.5 meters.

The Dead Sea will see daytime temperatures of 33-34 degrees Celsius, with water at 29 degrees Celsius and waves up to 0.5 meters.

Lifeguards will be on duty at official beaches, and swimming at unguarded beaches remains prohibited, though this rule is often ignored. Sunbathers are advised against prolonged exposure and to use sunscreen.
