Israel is set to experience a shift in weather patterns, moving from typical September warmth to cooler temperatures and potential rainfall by the end of the month. While Thursday, September 24th, will largely remain warm with highs reaching 28-35 degrees Celsius in many areas and a slight chance of rain along the coast, a change is anticipated next week. According to the Israeli Meteorological Service, temperatures will return to seasonal averages. Variable cloudiness is expected, with light drizzle possible on the Mediterranean coast, particularly in the south, during morning hours.
Daytime temperatures on Thursday will reach around 30 degrees Celsius in central and coastal regions. Jerusalem will be cooler, while Eilat and the Kinneret Sea area will be the hottest. Specific forecasts for September 24th include Jerusalem (+17-28°C), Tel Aviv (+23-30°C), Haifa (+23-30°C), Eilat (+25-35°C), Beersheba (+21-31°C), Ashkelon and Ashdod (+22-30°C), Ariel (+19-29°C), Tiberias and Kinneret coast (+22-34°C), Golan Heights (+19-32°C), and the Dead Sea coast (+25-33°C). The largest diurnal temperature difference is expected in Jerusalem, with a rise from 17°C to 28°C. In Eilat, nighttime temperatures will remain above 25°C.
Sea conditions on the Mediterranean will see water temperatures around 29°C and wave heights between 50-100 centimeters. Winds along the coast near Tel Aviv and Haifa are expected to be northwesterly at up to 15 km/h. Stronger gusts of up to 30 km/h are possible near the Kinneret Sea (northwesterly) and in Eilat Bay (northeasterly). Beachgoers are advised to consider sea conditions and official warnings.
A preliminary forecast indicates no significant weather changes from Friday, September 25th, to Tuesday, September 29th, with temperatures remaining stable. However, a noticeable shift is predicted for Wednesday, September 30th, when meteorologists anticipate a drop in temperature and rainfall in various parts of the country. This follows earlier reports of a sharp weather change preceding the Sukkot holiday.
