EuroLeague Stars React Angrily to Player Rankings

As the EuroLeague season is set to tip off, the website Eurohoops published its ranking of the top 20 players, sparking controversy among several prominent athletes. The list, which aims to identify the best players heading into the new season, drew sharp criticism from players who felt their positions were inaccurate or disrespectful.

Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos topped the rankings, followed by Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos in second place and Evan Fournier, also of Olympiacos, in third. Nigel Hayes-Davis and Sylvain Francisco rounded out the top five. Notable players like Mike James were ranked sixth, and Nikola Milutinov seventh.

Israeli basketball players also featured on the list. Elijah Bryant of Hapoel Tel Aviv was ranked 11th. Other well-known names included Wade Baldwin at 13th, Facundo Campazzo at 15th, and Kevin Punter at 16th. Tyler Dorsey was 17th, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot 18th, and Nadir Hifi 20th.

Israeli clubs Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv had multiple representatives. Jalen Hurd of Maccabi Tel Aviv was ranked 43rd. Hapoel Tel Aviv's Daniel Otuoro was 25th, Zach LeDay 37th, and Sylven Landesberg 41st, joining Bryant on the list.

Players Jordan Nwora and Chima Moneke expressed their displeasure on social media. Moneke sarcastically referred to Eurohoops as "Europoops," while Nwora questioned the site's credibility, stating he "didn't know they do such trolls." Nwora was ranked 44th, and Moneke finished last at 50th on the list.
