EuroLeague Stars React Angrily to Player Rankings

As the EuroLeague season is set to tip off, the website Eurohoops published its ranking of the top 20 players, sparking controversy among several prominent athletes. The list, which placed Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos at number one, Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos second, and Kostas Sloukas of Olympiacos third, drew sharp criticism from players who felt their positions were inaccurate or disrespectful.

Notable players included in the top 20 were Mike James (sixth), Nikola Milutinov (seventh), and Elijah Bryant of Hapoel Tel Aviv (eleventh). Other well-known names featured were Wade Baldwin (thirteenth), Facundo Campazzo (fifteenth), Kevin Punter (sixteenth), Tyler Dorsey (seventeenth), Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (eighteenth), and Nadir Hifi (twentieth).

Israeli teams also had significant representation. Jalen Hurd of Maccabi Tel Aviv was ranked 43rd. Hapoel Tel Aviv players Daniel Oturu (twenty-fifth), Zach LeDay (thirty-seventh), and Sylven Landesberg (forty-first) were also listed, joining Bryant.

However, players Jordan Nwora and Chima Moneke expressed strong dissatisfaction with their rankings. Nwora was placed 44th, while Moneke landed at the 50th and last spot. Moneke sarcastically referred to Eurohoops as "Europoops" on social media, and Nwora questioned the website's credibility, stating he "didn't know they do such trolls."
