Israel Warns Northern Residents of Imminent Lebanon Strikes

The Israeli military has issued a special directive to residents of northern Israel, warning them to prepare for an imminent and powerful wave of airstrikes in Lebanon. The directive, sent out in recent hours, states that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will conduct a series of attacks within Lebanese territory over the coming hours, and residents may hear the sounds of explosions. However, the IDF emphasized that normal routines can continue and no special public instructions are currently in effect.

This action follows a significant escalation in Israeli military activity against Lebanon. For months, the IDF had largely refrained from striking in Lebanon, reportedly due to an armistice agreement between the United States and Iran. However, since the collapse of that ceasefire in the Persian Gulf, Israel has reportedly become more assertive in its operations.

The most notable recent operation occurred approximately two weeks ago when the IDF detonated underground tunnels on the Ali Taher ridge. This demolition caused a massive explosion, registering a 4.1 magnitude earthquake in the region.
