Israel Prize Laureate Ohad Naharin Slams Government as 'Disgusting' and 'Corrupt'

Renowned Israeli dancer and choreographer Ohad Naharin, a recipient of the 2005 Israel Prize, has launched a scathing critique of the current Israeli government and its supporters. Speaking on journalist Guy Peleg's podcast, produced by All In podcast network, Naharin expressed anger and disgust at what he perceives as the mismanagement of the country by "ignorant and corrupt people."

Naharin, who also received the EMET Prize in 2009, questioned how so many people repeatedly choose "a disgusting group of people" to lead them. He stated, "I am disgusted, I am truly disgusted and it is repulsive. Repulsive people, why do we choose these repulsive people? I just don't understand, how do you not see it? These are people you wouldn't let babysit your child. You let them make fateful decisions and the mistakes that happen as a result of corruption and ignorance. Also stupidity, but I first think that ignorance and corruption are the strongest things causing this distortion of reality we live in."

The artist did not spare the public, expressing disbelief that supporters of the ruling coalition parties continue to vote for the same individuals. He emphasized his ability to quickly identify dishonesty in the politicians leading the nation, attributing their actions to a combination of ignorance, corruption, and stupidity, which he believes distorts reality.
