Palestinian Killed, Israeli Injured Near Ramallah; Israel Claims Vehicular Attack

A Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli forces and an Israeli man was seriously injured on Wednesday evening near the Beit Ur checkpoint on Route 443, west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli side claimed the incident was a vehicular attack.

Palestinian sources reported the event occurred at the Beit Ur checkpoint. The Israeli military later announced that its forces had shot and killed a young man they identified as the perpetrator of the alleged ramming attack.

Initially, the Israeli military stated it had received a report of a "ramming attack" at the checkpoint and that forces were dispatched to the scene, with details under investigation. In a subsequent statement, the military claimed its forces "neutralized the perpetrator who carried out the ramming attack at the checkpoint," without providing further details on the deceased's identity.

Israeli paramedics provided initial treatment to an Israeli man, approximately 30 years old, describing his condition as serious. Initial Israeli reports indicated the injured man had been shot, while simultaneously noting the death of the individual they identified as the attacker, who was shot dead.
