Jerusalem Gears Up for Sukkot with Diverse Cultural and Family Events

Jerusalem is set to host a wide array of cultural, traditional, and family-friendly activities throughout Sukkot and its intermediate days (Chol HaMoed). The traditional Four Species market at Valero Square in Mahane Yehuda will operate until the holiday begins. The Mayor's traditional Sukkah at Safra Square will feature performances and activities for the public during Chol HaMoed.

A highlight will be the traditional Jerusalem March on Monday, September 28, offering nature routes of varying difficulty, culminating in a large family festival at Sacher Park with musical performances and entertainment.

Additional events include the Kurdistan Jews' Saharana festival at the Museum of Tolerance on September 27, featuring music, folklore, and traditional food. The "Bethlehem Road" festival on September 27 will transform the street into a vibrant arts and crafts hub. The "Green Inside and Out" festival on September 28-29 will offer urban nature tours and sustainability activities. The Ein Kerem festival, from October 1-2, will showcase courtyard performances, open houses, and a central stage with artists like Yael Nidam Dagon, Aviv Becher, and Yair Dalal.

Mayor Moshe Lion welcomed the holiday events, emphasizing Jerusalem's openness to visitors from Israel and abroad, promoting mutual responsibility and unity. The municipality has enhanced cleaning, policing, and security in the Old City and tourist areas. To support local businesses, especially along the light rail construction routes in the German Colony, Talpiot, Hebron Road, and King George Street, equipped sukkahs have been erected.

The municipality advises visitors to use "Park and Ride" facilities and utilize the light rail and public transportation for convenient access to event locations.
