Singer Sharon Rotter Releases New Prayer-Inspired Song 'Master of Wonders'

The female musical ensemble The Mothers has released a new song titled 'Adon HaNiflaot' (Master of Wonders) ahead of the High Holidays, intended to convey a message of courage and renewal.

The song is a new musical arrangement of a passage from the morning prayer 'Yotzer Or,' which praises God's deeds. The lyrics include lines such as 'For He alone performs mighty deeds, does wonders, is the master of wars, sows righteousness, causes salvation to spring forth, creates healing, is awesome in praises, master of wonders.'

'The Mothers,' featuring singer and creator Sharon Rotter, who has returned to religious observance, Noa Ginosar of Moka, and Shiri Heder, keyboardist for the band Izhar, have given the ancient text a modern musical interpretation. Their aim is to connect the familiar prayer with a sense of renewal, bravery, and faith.

The artists stated that the song also reflects the human experience of embarking on a new path, acknowledging the fear that often accompanies such journeys. 'So it's true that you are coming to do something new? And it's true that you are dying of fear?' they said in a statement accompanying the song's release. 'And there's this part where you succeed and overcome and face it and go through it, and then something else happens, something changes.' The song is presented as a celebration of life emerging from hardship.
