The funeral of Sgt. Nove Havshush, 20, from Givat Binyamin, was held today, Sunday, at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Before the burial, a convoy of residents from Givat Binyamin-Adumim, along with the local emergency and rescue team, escorted the Havshush family to the cemetery while carrying Israeli flags.
Havshush served as an armored corps fighter in Battalion 52 and was the commander of the battalion commander’s tank. He was the fourth and final soldier whose name was released from the tank incident that took place late Thursday night, near midnight, in southern Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Forces are investigating what hit the tank. One possibility under review is that it was struck by an explosive drone, a missile, or an improvised explosive device planted in the area. All four members of the tank crew were killed in the incident.
In addition to Havshush, those killed were battalion commander Lt. Col. Dor Ben Shimon, Sgt. Yoav Klein of Herzliya, and Sgt. Liav Kebabia of Hod HaSharon.
