In a poll of EuroLeague managers conducted by BasketNews, Maccabi Tel Aviv received 26.7% of the votes for the league's dark horse, tying with Zalgiris Kaunas for the top spot.
Despite playing most of their home games in a neutral venue, managers cited Maccabi's strengthened roster as a key factor. Notable additions include players like Keeton Wallace, Daniel Theis, Bonzie Colson, and Yam Madar. The team's ability to perform under these circumstances has led to the dark horse designation.
Looking ahead to the Final Four, managers predicted Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, and Fenerbahce to reach the final stage, with Dubai rounding out the top five. Maccabi's fellow Israeli team, Hapoel Tel Aviv, was not included in the predictions. Sasha Vezenkov was identified as the leading favorite for the MVP award.
