Election Pollster Sees Clear Political Landscape Ahead of Vote

Dr. Menachem Lazar, election pollster for Maariv, expressed confidence in the clarity of the current political picture, based on a poll published the previous evening. He noted that while Benny Gantz's numbers are not significantly improving, the Likud party faces internal challenges, and several parties are struggling to surpass the electoral threshold. Lazar also observed that the bloc of Zionist opposition parties has stabilized, with an even number of parties potentially facilitating surplus vote agreements and preventing wasted ballots.

Lazar highlighted concerns regarding voter turnout within the Arab Israeli community, stating that it has not yet increased. He explained that a rise in turnout among Arab citizens, who constitute approximately 21% of the population, could significantly boost the electoral power of Arab parties, potentially reaching 17 Knesset seats if their turnout matches that of the Jewish population.

Looking ahead, Lazar anticipates that voter decisions will become clearer after the upcoming holiday. He indicated that the percentage of undecided voters is already decreasing and is expected to continue this trend, leading to a more defined electoral landscape.
